A "gumbo-type" mix of roots, country-rock, blues and folk. If you had to "label" his music, you might be reminded of Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Lucinda Williams or Little Feat with some Don Henley and Miles Davis thrown in.

As Steve splits his time between Toronto and Niagara-On-The-Lake, he has been dubiously dubbed the "fringe local". These days, in between Steve's Niagara Rhythm Section and other freelance gigs and studio work, he and his band, the Fringe Locals, can occasionaly be found performing in the Niagara & Toronto regions. The personnel has settled into a "collective" of players which varies slightly from gig to gig. The arrangements vary from night to night, exuding a fresh "jam-band" adventure with each show.
The Fringe Locals have released four indie CD's to date.
